Fear Factory - Genexus flac album

Genexus is the ninth studio album by American heavy metal band Fear Factory, released on August 7, 2015. This is the third studio album from Fear Factory since guitarist Dino Cazares rejoined the band in 2009, and their first to feature drummer Mike Heller. Genexus is also Fear Factory's first release through Nuclear Blast.

Until then, the band are whetting the appetite of eager fans by releasing the first trailer for the album.

Fear Factory formed in 1989 in America with an initial line up of Dino Cazares, Raymond Herrera and Burton C. Bell. They released their first material in 1991 in an album called Concrete. Legendary metaller, Max Cavalera, then of Sepultura recommended the band top Roadrunner Records and Fear Factory had their first contract. All was good with the band as they released a steady stream of material that included the albums Demanufacture and Obsolete until around 2001 after the release of Digimortal. Title track Genexus is up next and again takes a leaf out of the Demanufacture book. In particular that actual title track as it starts with bass drums that then get joined by guitars and effects in layers. The vocals are very heavy here through the verses and even the chorus, though there is some clean singing, feels heavier as it is punctuated with growls and shouts.

Title-track Genexus carries on with the speed, and is essentially a standard FEAR FACTORY track. Insanely fast and deeply menacing, it pauses only for a breakdown. Church Of Execution is another slower song, and one that sadly fails to make much impact. Plodding and ultimately rather dull, it does very little interesting. Closer Expiration Date is undoubtedly the weakest point of the album. At almost nine minutes, it feels as though Bell and co have tried something a lot more progressive, but the end result is just not very good. Overly-long and uninteresting, it’s a disappointing way to end what should have been a far better album. Overall, Genexus has its moments of intrigue, however it simply falls short as a whole. Far too samey in most places, the album improves drastically on its predecessor but comes nowhere near to the band’s older material.
