Just One Night is a 1980 double album by Eric Clapton, recorded live at the Budokan Theatre, Tokyo, Japan, December 1979 when Clapton was touring to support Backless, his latest record at that time. The sleeve contains a Japanese painting by Ken Konno. The album reached No. 2 in the . and No. 3 in the UK, and was certified gold by RIAA. Critical reaction to the album has been largely positive

Although Eric Clapton has released a bevy of live albums, none of them have ever quite captured the guitarist's raw energy and dazzling virtuosity. The double live album Just One Night may have gotten closer to that elusive goal than most of its predecessors, but it is still lacking in many ways. The most notable difference between Just One Night and Clapton 's other live albums is his backing band. Led by guitarist Albert Lee, the group is a collective of accomplished professionals who have managed to keep some grit in their playing

WAS NEVER MUCH OF A CLAPTON FAN UNTIL I SAW HIM PLAY WITH ROGER WATERS AT THE MEADOWLANDS IN NJ FOR THE PROS AND CONS TOUR. AMAZING. BUT THIS RECORD IS A MASTERPIECE. THE GUITAR WORK AND TIMING OF THE BAND IS PERFECT. A GREAT TRIBUTE TO JJ CALE ON "COCAINE'. ALBERT LEE ADDS A NICE TOUCH.
