Vol. 1 & 2 recorded November 6, 1985 at Radio France (Studio 103) Vol. 3, 4 & 5 recorded March 20, 1988 at Théâtre de la ville in Paris, France. French, English and German liner notes. Previously released separately.

The first two CDs document a single show in 1985, when Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and his "party" (as the qawwali group is known) offer two-and-a-half hours of music, ranging from the devotional Sufi Muslim material for which he was best known to the lighter love poems, or ghazals. While still the lead vocalist, Khan is very much a member of the group, weaving vocal phrases with the backing singers, and only breaking out for short, dizzying flights of improvisation, running up to the heights like Charlie Parker before returning.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Urdu/Punjabi: نصرت فتح علی خان), born Anjum Pervaiz Ali Khan (13 October 1948 – 16 August 1997), was a legendary Pakistani vocalist and musician, primarily a singer of Qawwali, a form of Sufi Islamic devotional music. Widely considered one of the greatest voices ever recorded, he possessed an extraordinary range of vocal abilities and could perform at a high level of intensity for several hours.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is unarguably the most famous Pakistani artmannist of Qawwali. His musical projects with Peter Gabriel introduced Qawwali to the western audiences, in which he experimented with blending eastern sounds over western instruments. His admirers are as far as Japan, where he was considered a reincarnation of laughing Buddha due to his strong resemblance. His nephew and successor Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is considered the current King of Qawwali Music now. Download 500+ Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan songs below, mostly in 280kbps and 320kbps quality

This five-volume series covering two concerts is, in a word, magnificent. For those who wish to dive headlong, it captures the man's magic better than any other recording on the Western market. But if there were, his name would be Khan. He inherits a family tradition of qawwali singing going back several centuries, and in live performances like this concert he can be emotionally devastating. Tracklist: Vo. 1. Hamd 2. Naat 3.
