I am not a music critic but speaking only for myself I found it difficult to listen to any of the pieces presented. The only way I can describe it is each element in and by itself is good but the mixture of all of them did not come as smooth as his other works of art.

Andrew wrote a Requiem Mass that premiered in New York on 25 February 1985 at St Thomas Church, inspired by an article he had read in the New York Times. It was about a Cambodian boy who had the option of killing his mutilated sister or being killed himself. The subsequent death of a journalist in the Northern Ireland conflict who had just interviewed Andrew, also provided a muse, and would be a subject Andrew would return to later in his career with The Beautiful Game.
