BIOGRAFIA: I Mortuary Drape sono un gruppo musicale black metal italiano fondato nel 1986 ad Alessandria, Piemonte. Assieme a Necromass, Evol ed Opera IX sono considerati tra i gruppi musicali di black metal più longevi d'Italia. Il primo demo dei Mortuary Drape denominato 'Necromancy' è stato messo in circolo nel 1987; dopo la pubblicazione di quel nastro, la band ottiene un grande successo nelle scene underground più intransigenti. Nel 1989 pubblicano il loro secondo demo chiamato 'Doom Return'. Nel 1999 la band incide un altro album intitolato 'Tolling 13 knell' pubblicato dalla Avantgarde. Alla fine del 2003 l'etichetta Wild ristampa i due demo cult Necromancy (1987) e Doom Return (1989) su CD, impiegando una custodia originale e una nuova grafica. Il 20 novembre 2004 viene pubblicato il loro album 'Buried in Time' dall'etichetta Avantgarde.
