Complete your Yma Sumac collection. Xtabay is very melodic and has a bit of the operatic voice exercises Sumac is so well known for as well as the fun fantastic grunts, hard breaths, and siren calls that make for great lounge music. Reply Notify me Helpful. Marketplace 256 For Sale from €. 1.

Sumac's first and most popular release, and also one of her least hokey or pop-oriented. That's not to say it's without its mass-appeal elements, especially in the arrangements, conducted by Les Baxter. Originally issued as a 10-inch LP, the latest CD reissue combines the eight tracks with the eight others contained on another of her early albums, Inca Taqui.

Yma Sumac's chart-topping debut release has been in print for almost 60 years, proving that her multi-octave voice and exotic musical settings still charm listeners to this day. This CD features the 1956 reissue that combined the two 10" records Voice of the Xtabay from 1950 and 1953's Inca Taqui. Renews automatically. Sample this album Artist (Sample). Not a bad track on it! This cd contains 2 complete 10" original lps from 1950 and 1953 respectively, Voice of the Xtabay and Inca Taqui. The highest note from a human voice can be heard on Chuncho (The Forest Creatures). High Andes! is a magnificent majestic piece of music so far ahead of it's time it's not true!

Yma Sumac Gopher Mambo (1996 Digital Remaster). Yma Sumac Chuncho (The Forest Creatures). Yma Sumac Wak'ai (Cry) (Voice of the Xtabay album). Yma Sumac Sejollo (Whip Dance).
