Klemperer: The Cologne Years, Vol. 1. 2005. I. Adagio - Allegro vivace. 3. III. Allegro vivace.

By George London, WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, Otto Klemperer. Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major, BWV 1068: I. Ouverture - Johann Sebastian Bach, 9:000:30.

Otto Nossan Klemperer (14 May 1885 – 6 July 1973) was a Jewish German-born conductor and composer, described as "the last of the few really great conductors of his generation. Otto Klemperer was born in Breslau, Province of Silesia, then in Germany (now Wrocław, Poland), as a son of Nathan Klemperer, a native of Prague, Bohemia (today's Czech Republic). His parents were Jewish.

Herman Schey (baritone). Concertgebouw Orchestra, Otto Klemperer. Catalogue No: ARC-WU076-77. Series: Klemperer Rarities. Length: 2 hours 35 minutes. No digital booklet included.

The collection of Bruckner Symphonies is a 6-CD set presenting 5 of Bruckner s symphonies including the incomplete 9th symphony that was never finished due to his death. The set presents a comprehensive survey of Klemperer s renowned conducting. I was interested in this set as I have individual Bruckner symphonies by Klemperer-the fourth and sixth and those whetted the appetite for the fifth and eighth. While i much enjoyed the performances of the fourth, sixth and seventh symphonies in this set, i found the fifth and eighth lacking momentum to the point of being inert.
