Byrds is the twelfth and final studio album by the American rock band the Byrds and was released in March 1973 on Asylum Records (see 1973 in music). It was recorded as the centerpiece of a reunion between the five original band members: Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke. The last time that all five members had worked together as the Byrds was in 1966, prior to Clark's departure from the band.

The compilers of The Very Best of the Byrds also added a nice touch by including the original liner notes from the 1967 The Byrds Greatest Hits album. These notes lend an interesting perspective on how seriously the tastemakers of the day took the group, and also include some interesting biographical material about the group's days as Los Angeles club band

The album I have is "The Byrds /The Very Best Of" - same cover and title as pictured on this site. Mine is Columbia/Sony . But really can't imagine anyone being disappointed.

The Byrds were an American rock band that were formed in Los Angeles, California in 1964. The bulk of the band's releases were issued on Columbia Records or its subsidiaries, with a notable exception being their final studio album from 1973. This final album, titled Byrds, and its accompanying singles ("Full Circle", "Things Will Be Better", and "Cowgirl in the Sand") were all released on Asylum Records

The Byrds: The Very Best Of. I bought this album mostly because I like Bob Dylan, and there are some really good covers of his songs on this album. The Byrds made some great songs on their own too, and only that make this album affordable. Hard to explain with words, but The Byrds really have a characteristical and lovely sound.
