Tom McRae (born Jeremy Thomas McRae Blackall) is an English singer-songwriter. The son of two Church of England vicars, McRae sang in the church choir and as a teen experimented with his mother's guitar. Initially trying to emulate his heroes, Billy Bragg, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Kate Bush, U2, he began to write his own songs and develop his own style.

All Maps Welcome will delight or vex fans of the first record and Just Like Blood: bar two instances, there is no sense of McRae having broken new ground, either as a songwriter or a singer. Tracks such as How the West Was Won and It Ain't You instead mire him in McRae mannerisms - tremulous vocals and angst-soaked lyrics - to backing that recalls Mike and the Mechanics and the theme from Chariots of Fire.

All Maps Welcome is the third album from singer-songwriter Tom McRae, perhaps one of British music’s best kept secrets. Despite the critical acclaim (including a Mercury Prize nomination for his debut album), he still struggles to get the profile of fellow troubadour Damien Rice. Recorded in three weeks, with the assistance of members of Beck’s backing band, All Maps Welcome has an admirably low-key and raw sound.
