These Days" is a song written by Jackson Browne and recorded by numerous artists. Browne wrote the song at age 16; its lyrics deal with loss and regret. It was first recorded by Nico in 1967 for her album Chelsea Girl. Gregg Allman recorded a new arrangement of the song in 1973 on Laid Back, and Browne recorded the Allman arrangement on For Everyman the same year. These Days" has also been recorded by Paul Westerberg, St. Vincent, Fountains of Wayne, Mates of State, and Drake, among others.
I never had any of those Black hey Capricorn days Though it doesn't seem so I've got to get this way I'm going through a black hey Capricorn day and though you want to check me out I'm not the man to Play, play, play, play. It's just to black for me (x14) It's just too-black. I'm stuck on the highway leading straight to hell Like any other drifter with a soul to sell You know I'm dealing with the devil In everyone I meet And their faces tell a story, That life ain't so sweet.

Capricorn Album Discography By Patrice Eyries, Mike Callahan, and David Edwards Last update: September 21, 2005. From Macon, Georgia, Phil Walden began as manager for R&B singers such as Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Percy Sledge and Clarence Carter. The first record he was associated with was Johnny Jenkins' "Love Twist", a regional hit, reissued on Atlantic 2144 in 1962. The label was christened Capricorn and one of the first artists signed was a then-little-known session guitarist working at Muscle Shoals Studios in Alabama, Duane Allman. Walden also signed Johnny Jenkins, with whom he had worked five years earlier. The first few albums on Capricorn were released under the Atco imprint (a subsidiary of Atlantic), with Capricorn getting a mention on the record cover as the "Capricorn Record Series".
Instead, the band sounds the most comfortable with love ballads and working class anthems, from hits "This Ain't a Love Song" and "Lie to Me," to the acoustic "Diamond Ring. In fact, as the years go by, Bon Jovi gets musically stronger. Not only are their best songs stronger now, their playing is more accomplished. Keeping these improvements in mind, it's no surprise that the group.
These Days’ is a slower and darker Bon Jovi record. The band abandons their optimistic view of the world, for a deeper more cynical view. This can be seen in the brilliant opener ‘Hey God’, one of the few heavy songs on the album. Jon gives one of his best vocal performances here, as he brings together different stories of people living on the edge of the world . These Days’ was a moderate success, especially in Europe and Japan. After a world tour and a couple years’ hiatus, Bon Jovi returned to their more optimistic and more marketable song writing, resulting in a decade of mediocrity.
