Passages is a collaborative chamber music studio album co-composed by Ravi Shankar and Philip Glass, released in 1990 through Private Music. Consisting of arrangements by each of the composers around themes written by the other, the album's content is a hybrid of Hindustani classical music and Glass' distinct American minimal contemporary classical style. The album reached a peak position of number three on Billboard's Top World Music Albums chart.

Biography by Robert Cummings. An early proponent of minimalism, Glass has successfully bridged the gulf between the worlds of American classical and popular music.

This album of music from the film KOYAANISQATSI is the original motion picture soundtrack. This 13- track-76-minute album includes never before heard music as well as sound effects from the film and is the original recording done for the film. Michael Riesman conducts the Philip Glass Ensemble. I also enjoyed musical cues that were in the movie that were not in the original soundtrack release; I used to have to watch the movie to hear these unreleased musical cues/cuts.

THE ILLUSIONIST – Philip Glass. At its core, The Illusionist has all the trademarks of a classic Glass work – Mishima, or Kundun, or Koyaanisqatsi. Many of the middle-album cues, from Meeting in the Carriage through to Frankel Appears tend to coagulate together in a relentlessly undulating, monotone mush which threatens to undermine the strength of other parts of the album, and certainly makes waiting for the admittedly rather good finale something of a slog.
