Heavy Weather is the eighth album by Weather Report, released in 1977 through Columbia Records. The release originally sold about 500,000 copies; it would prove to be the band's most commercially successful album.

Hot Jazz on Blue Note is a four-disc, 72-song box set that boasts a cross-section of classic traditional jazz and jump blues from the Blue Note vaults. All of the material on the set is from the '40s, when the label was just beginning to establish themselves as a force in jazz. Among the leaders on the set include George Lewis, Sidney Bechet, Meade Lux Lewis and Albert Nicholas, while Charlie Christian, Ray Conniff, Red Norvo and many others are sidemen.

Posed with the question, Who invented jazz album cover design? Most people will instantly say, Blue Note Records, and Reid Miles in particular. But this would be a gross simplification as well as inaccurate. What is true is that the record labels that were releasing jazz in the 1940s in 78 albums and then on 10 long playing records were at the forefront of LP design. Over at Blue Note it was another graphic designer, with a passion for jazz, who did many of the label’s early album designs, his name was Paul Bacon. When the label released it’s initial batch of LPs in the early 1950s they featured sleeves designed by a d New Yorker, Bacon. Before Reid Miles took over as art director at Blue Note, he had worked as assistent to John Hermansader, who was a freelance designer working for Blue Note from his studio in New York. It happened that the assistent Miles became involved in the design of Blue Note´s covers and he carried them out to the client´s great satisfaction.
