Hector Barbour, AKA Denis Sulta, returns with his first track as Atlus since 2015. Peggy Gou - Starry Night. An energetic and all-around delightful tune to kick off Peggy Gou's brand new label, Gudu Records, and EP, Moment. Her cool, smooth vocals echo over the retro bassline and keys, with a touch of acid. You'll hear this one everywhere this summer-and rightfully so.

Surgeon is the pseudonym of Anthony Child (born 1 May 1971), an English electronic musician and DJ. Child releases music on his own labels Counterbalance and Dynamic Tension. Established imprints, such as Tresor, Soma, and Harthouse, have also released Surgeon's original material and remixes. He has also been recognized as one of the first wave of DJs to use Ableton Live and Final Scratch to supplement his DJ sets.

Talk about Surgeon - Muggerscum Out

Picked it up the day it came out and haven't put down since. It's seen all sorts of abuse and been played everywhere from Stockholm to Tokyo. A masterpiece and somewhat of an old battle comrade!

Coaster: As the title suggests it contains one hell of a big drop. Danger.

While the EP is titled after the raw and screechy B1 track, the piece to listen to is "Coaster," a lengthy and hypnotic techno composition of both subtle and epic proportions. The elements are few, but the timing is effective; by the time Coaster seems to settle onto a compositional plateau, Mr. Child (Surgeon) stabs a huge kick drum into the track. Given the compression against the other elements, the track gives off a certain perceived "pressure" that is simply powerful. "Brownian Motion" is a quirky, off-kilter track that seems more interesting as an idea or exercise.

After the Dynamic Tension EP on Ideal Trax, this was his breakthrough. Sounds very close to the Dynamic Tension EP. Tony did use the same equipment and Action (DT EP) and Coaster (here) seem to be two versions of one track. An even rise in power without drifting into Hardcore/ Noise. At this time Tony was without a doubt one of the most innovative producers in electronic music scene (an his finest hour isn't over yet). The artwork on this ep isn't the one Tony wanted to have. He prefered to have a sprayed picture from a wall in his hood in Birmingham. But the Soma guys decided to put this "Surgeon lamp" on the record. Today, that wouldn't happen again. He is still one of the most talented producers and I think we can still wait for fantastic innovations from his studio.
