Redirected from Supernova (Fear Factory)). Transgression is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Fear Factory. It was released on August 22, 2005 through Calvin Records. Guest appearances include Billy Gould, the bassist of Faith No More, and Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton, who co-wrote the song "New Promise".
Best of all, Raymond Herrera's totally insane drumming continues to drive the band's explosive heart. Opener "540,000° Fahrenheit" overlays its rhythmic chop with sputtering guitars and a typically mirthful vocal from Burton C. Bell, while "Spinal Compression" crosses and sparks the tension wires of thrash and death metal.
One nation One nation of gods Divided by faith Nation divided by faith Witness deliberate war of attrition Witness deliberate war of attrition. Judge me not Judge lest you be judged Eyes are blind Blinded by violation.
Luckily on Transgression, (their second effort without founding guitarist Dino Cazares) that gift is on full display. The organic, not so "cyber" production fits the experimental nature of the songs quite nicely, while the nu metal flair present on previous albums has been replaced with some welcomely progressive flirtations. Taking such chances in metal is rarely met with fanfare, but in this case I feel we're seeing actual growth.
