Spit It Out" is a song by American heavy metal band Slipknot, released as the second single from their debut self-titled album. There was a dispute over the release of this song as the band and album's first single. While deciding which track to release, guitarist Mick Thomson and percussionist Shawn Crahan were reportedly very enthusiastic about releasing "Surfacing" as the next single.

It is one of the band’s best known songs due to their live interaction with the crowd (this has been dubbed The Crazy Test and Jump The Fuck Up ). It also features Taylor rapping unlike the majority of Slipknot’s other tracks. The pre-album demo also included a rougher version of the song. According to Joel McIver’s book Slipknot Unmasked: it was allegedly written in response to the growing rivalry between two Central Iowan radio stations (KAZR and KKDM). Slipknot were now Des Moines' leading band, and because they were allied to (KKDM), KAZR allegedly resented this, attempting to pit (them) against (local band 35'‘ Mudder). In the aftermath, amongst other incidents, Slipknot were removed from a concert in Chicago supporting Anthrax.

Whenever Slipknot play "Spit It Out" live, they do what's called the "zero bulls-t" at the bridge. Corey tells all the fans in the crowd to get down on their knees and jump up when he says "jump the f-k up," at which point the crowd goes crazy. The line "Jump the f-k up" replaces the line in the recording, "Good enough, had enough Spit it out is an outstanding tune, I just lose it to that song, went that crazy one night at a local bar on the dance floor and totally snapped my left middle finger in half n bone was stickin out of it!!!
