All Hope Is Gone is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. Preparation for the album began in 2007, while recording started in February 2008 in the band's home state of Iowa.

Generally well received by critics, the album reached the top position on nine record charts worldwide, including the Billboard 200-the first Slipknot album to do so. It has been certified Platinum by the RIAA on the 10th of August 2010 for shipments in excess of 1,000,000 albums in the United States.

All Hope Is Gone is Slipknot's fourth studio album. Noted to have begun preparation in October 2007, recording was due to begin in January 2008, but was pushed back to February. It will be the band's first studio release since 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), making All Hope Is Gone their fourth studio album, as well as the first musical output from the band since Corey Taylor and Jim Root's mainstream success with Stone Sour, Joey Jordison's stints with Korn, Ministry and 3 Inches of Blood, Shawn.

The reissue features newly reimagined artwork by tualist M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan, remastered audio and, most notably, a bonus disc containing Slipknot's 2009 headline set from Madison Square Garden

*This review is strictly for the live performance This record right here was worth my time as someone who went to a Knot show and had the time of his life. The performances of "Gently", "Purity", and "People = Shit" were riveting and by te time "Everything Ends" dropped, I was singing every song in my little hole-in-the -wall apartment. It was interesting to hear "Psychosocial" as it had just been released and wasn't as polished yet as when I saw Knot years later showcase the single within their setlist. What a great performance that I am glad that I did nit pass up on! The perfect mood-lifter, like being in attendance of an actual Knot show; I speak from experience.

Well done remaster. Nothing too hugely noticeable, just small fine tuning which makes everything a tad clearer. Disappointed in the quality it was packaged in. Vinyl was very dirty and lots of scuffs and the first disk. However a good brush did the job and the scuffs were only visual, no affect on playback. The re imagined art is interesting for what it is. same format as the original press, a small artbook or a bit more art inners would have been a nice touch to make it really feel complete. Worth a pick up for a slipknot fan, not a must have for others. this or the original press will do.

Found this today at my local shop and I can second what lehin said. I'll add that I wish there was a bit more on the high end frequency but overall good release.

good sounding reissue, the package is nice too, I was never such a big fan of the original artwork cover and this one looks much more eerie I would say, I like it better. I see many people complaining about the colour of the LPs, I bought my copy, grey colour, from CDON sweden, the grey version is supposed to be sold in europe mainly, otherwise buy it as an import if you want it. I fail to see the hype anyway, the best colour for wax is and will always be black.

Has anyone received the marbled silver variant?..I've ordered from three different sites that all had it listed as silver and every single one I've gotten has been black vinyl.Im wondering if the distributors are shipping out what they think are silver records but they're not?..Anyone else have this issue?

The silver has RR7432-1 on the spine, the black has 1686-174321. Barcode is the same, that's why other websites register them as silver. Shame on Roadrunner for that mess.

It doesn't make sense because these retailers commonly have imports so they've said that's what they were told they were getting also...Does the silver come with a identifying sticker or different barcode than the standard black?
