Brainstorm - Journey To The Light flac album

There was reason to believe that Brainstorm might go on to become huge, but regrettably, its sophomore effort, Journey to the Light, was a commercial disappointment. The LP didn't provide any major hits, and the only people who bought it were Brainstorm's hardcore followers. Regardless, Journey to the Light is generally excellent.

Brainstorm’s sophomore album, Journey To The Light was released in 1978 on Tabu Records label as the Disco craze was in full swing. Having scored a major across the board hit Lovin’ You Is Really My Game off their debut album Stormin’, Brainstorm had the difficult task of following up such a solid debut. Journey To The Light more then delivers. Musically, it is far richer and more sophisticated then Stormin’. If Stormin’ was more of a Dance/Funk album, Journey To The Light can not be pigeonholed into any category. This set is a highly sophisticated slice of Jazzy Classy R&B. Sinuous, urgent and delightful, "Journey to the Light" is a fine song. Its a shame this album is overlooked. The only complaint is that for me "Every Time I See You, I Go Wild!" drags a bit.
