About the album: Highway to Hell is AC/DC's fifth internationally released studio album and the sixth to be released in Australia. The album became AC/DC's first LP to break the US Top 100 and is the group's second highest selling album behind Back in Black.
Road needs have been strongly influenced by this popularity and also by the mass movement of people to cities and thence to suburban fringes-a trend that has led to increasing travel needs and road congestion and to low-density cities, which are difficult to service by public transport. Often the building of new roads to alleviate such problems has encouraged further urban sprawl and yet more road travel. The life of a road structure depends on the quality of its maintenance and minor renovation. Maintenance keeps the roadway safe, provides good driving conditions, and prolongs the life of the pavement, thus protecting the road investment. Maintenance consists of activities concerned with the condition of the pavement, shoulders, drainage, traffic facilities, and right-of-way.
A concept album based around a man’s psychological breakdown, The Downward Spiral is an aggressive and abrasive record that tackles all manner of transgressive subject matter – self-harm, drug addiction, alcoholism, suicide – while sounding appropriately discomforting. Produced and recorded by NIN frontman Trent Reznor and Flood in the house in which Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson Family, there’s a dark power to its sonic perfectionism that conveyed best on a high-quality hi-fi setup. For those unfamiliar with the album, it caught Radiohead right on the cusp of the experimentation that would spawn Kid A, and marries it with the kind of choruses that would have 90,000 fans singing every word back at the band from in front of Glastonbury's Pyramid stage that summer. Play Etched Headplate in most clubs and the only way you’d empty the dancefloor quicker would be to release a wolf onto it.
Hi everybody I was wondering what to say in the following paragraph: I drove all night long, there wasn't anybody ON/IN the road? I guess just one option. I was wondering what to say in the following paragraph: I drove all night long, there wasn't anybody ON/IN the road? I guess just one option is right, could you please tell me why? Thanks a lot!
Use our free chapter-by-chapter summary and analysis of On the Road. It helps middle and high school students understand Jack Kerouac's literary masterpiece. They ramble, they cavort, and, most of all, they keep moving, all in way that seems to indicate that it’s most definitely the journey-not the destination-that counts. The novel unfolds like the most epic travel guide ever, which is just one of the many reasons that it’s one of the most important books in American literature. Heck, this book is so famous, even the manuscript went on tour. What is On the Road About and Why Should I Care? Pardon us? What’s that? Why should you care about On the Road?
The studio's old tube mixers were on their way out, their limited channels and features rendering them obsolete for eight-track recording, which had become standard. Ironically, EMI had been developing the new console since before the Beatles' arrival in the early Sixties. Now it was finished, just in time for what would be the group's last album. There was just one problem: the solid-state console sounded nothing like the valve console, which is why Abbey Road- recorded largely in the facility's famed Studio Two-sounds nothing like the Beatles' previous albums. The first Abbey Road session work took place on February 22 and 23, 1969, when Lennon's "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" was begun at Trident Studios with Glyn Johns (who would work with the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin) engineering.
