Phoenix is the sixth studio album by the rock band Grand Funk Railroad. The album was produced by Grand Funk and marks the band's first album not produced by Terry Knight. The album had one Radio hit, Rock N roll Soul that is a fine song and GFR plays it to this day, But the album is filled with very good songs that are somewhat forgotten and should not be. Someone is a sad and pretty yearning for love song. Rain Keeps Fallin again a nice love song.

It was produced by Terry Knight and engineered by Ken Hamann and this release was certified by RIAA with a gold record award, the first for the group. It includes a cover of The Animals Inside Looking Out which is still a cornerstone of the live concerts today.
