Rossini - Il Turco in Italia, Caballé · Dara · Nucci · Barbacini · Ramey · Barbié · Chailly. Performer: Montserrat Caballé, Samuel Ramey, Enzo Dara, Leo Nucci, Paolo Barbacini, et al. Orchestra: National Philharmonic Orchestra London, Ambrosian Opera Chorus. Conductor: Riccardo Chailly. Composer: Gioachino Rossini. Audio CD (October 25, 1990). Riccardo Chailly's excellent conduction of National Philarmonic Orchestra is added all this, that is perfect, seeming that he got to understand the way that Rossini wanted this opera should be presented. The sound quality is very good, very well recorded and very clean: digital recording, despite the year(1982).

Il turco in Italia (The Turk in Italy) is an opera in two acts by Gioachino Rossini. It was a re-working of a libretto by Caterino Mazzolà set as an opera (with the same title) by the German composer Franz Seydelmann in 1788. An opera buffa, it was influenced by Mozart's Così fan tutte, which was performed at the same theatre shortly before Rossini's work. The strangely harmonized overture, though infrequently recorded, is one of the best examples of Rossini's characteristic style. Enzo Dara, Montserrat Caballé, Samuel Ramey, Ernesto Palacio, Jane Berbié, Leo Nucci, Paolo Barbacini. Riccardo Chailly, National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ambrosian Opera Chorus.
