Crystal Gayle is the eponymous debut album by Crystal Gayle, although she had previously recorded material which was not released until later. It was released on February 7, 1975

When Gayle delivered the album to n-head Jimmy Bowen, he complained that it rocked too much. Producer Allen Reynolds refused to make changes, so Bowen produced three new tracks that seem out of place. Yeah, the Reynolds tracks do rock. So what? Gayle gives some of her best performances ever on "Our Love Is on the Faultline" and "Deeper in the Fire.

In the seventies Crystal Gayle (Loretta Lynn's younger sister) was one of the most successful crossover country artists and this valuable collection explains why. It contains her massive 1977 hit Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue plus the next year's number one, Heart Mender  . The BEST Crystal Gayle collection around. This album is quite generous. The recordings and Crystal's vocals are splendid. You can never get tired of listening to "Beyond You" & "I Wanna Come Back To You".
