Neil Young is the self-titled debut studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young following his departure from Buffalo Springfield in 1968, issued on Reprise Records. Some sources place the album's release date on January 22, 1969, while other sources have the release date as Young's 23rd birthday, November 12, 1968. It was then partially remixed and re-released in November 1969, but at no time has the album ever charted on the Billboard 200.

It contains 35 of Young's songs recorded between 1966 and 1976, among them five tracks that had been unreleased up to that point. It peaked at No. 43 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, and was certified platinum by the RIAA in 1986.

Homegrown is an unreleased acoustic album by Neil Young from 1974-1975. Background, recording, and near-release. Release of songs on later albums. 1974 would prove both a turbulent and productive year for Neil Young. With the unreleased 1973 album Tonight's the Night in the can, Young would record On the Beach in the Spring for a July 1974 release.

Neil Young continues to be one of the most prolific musicians in rock with the announcement of his latest live album, Tuscaloosa. The seven-track LP captures highlights from Young’s Feb. 3, 1973, performance with the Stray Gators at the University of Alabama. The singer recently revealed he’ll be recording his first new album with Crazy Horse since 2012. Young also appears on the soundtrack to the upcoming film Echo in the Canyon, while the musician himself appears in the new documentary Bachman, chronicling the life and career of Randy Bachman. Couple those items with Young’s upcoming tour dates, including a stop at Northern California music festival BottleRock, and it looks like 2019 will be anything but quiet for him.

Neil Young is currently in the studio with Crazy Horse recording their first LP since guitarist Frank Poncho Sampedro retired and Nils Lofgren came back into the fold to replace him. It’s unclear when that album will be ready, but Young says that his unreleased 1975 LP Homegrown will be his next archival release after TUSCALOOSA. TUSCALOOSA Track List. A side: Here We Are In The Years (3:56) After The Gold Rush (4:42) Out On The Weekend (5:29) Harvest (4:14).

Neil Young is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He is easily recognizably for his distinct tenor voice, making him a near-polar opposite of his Canadian folk contemporary, the baritone. While Neil Young was accidentally proclaimed dead by NBC News in 2012, he had an actual near-death experience when he suffered a brain aneurysm and collapsed on a sidewalk in 2000. He did survive after undergoing a minimally invasive neuroradiology surgery, but since he has stopped taking drugs. Young has also ventured into film, having directed multiple films under the guise of Bernard Shakey, and was nominated for an Academy Award for an original song written for the movie Philidelphia, and has worked with renowned members of the film industry such as Russ Tamblyn, Martin Scorcese, Dennis.
