Sucking the 70’s is a two disc collection of 1970s songs covered by modern stoner rock bands. It was put out by Small Stone Records in 2002. A second album, Sucking the 70's – Back in the Saddle Again, was released in 2006. The album title is a reference to the Rolling Stones compilation Sucking in the Seventies. Never in My Life" – Five Horse Johnson 4:47 (originally performed by Mountain). Black Betty" – Throttlerod 3:48 (first recorded commercially by Lead Belly, covered by Ram Jam).

Toto, Boston, Billy Ocean, Sly & The Family Stone, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Harry Nilsson, David Soul, Lou Reed, Bay City Rollers and more! Recommended titles. Car Songs – The 70s. Definitely an album you can listen to from cover to cover. One person found this helpful. The double disc "Sucking the '70s" compilation set bows to the wild decade of excess and extended jams, with a variety of exhaust-emitting cover songs. The cool sleeve graphics for this heavy on distortion, wah-wah, feedback, and fuzz infested tribute to daze-gone-by includes retro MPC 1/24 scale model kit assembly instructions, and a mock decal sheet for a rubber burnin' 1970 Plymouth Barracuda (aka Cuda), powered by a stout 440 Six Pack engine. We’re talkin’ serious Motor City automation. Feel the earth shake!

Various Artists, Sucking the ’70s (ss-032/2002). In a lot of ways, this is what it’s all about. Badass bands playing badass songs
