Devin Townsend - Empath flac album
Empath is the eighteenth studio album by Canadian metal musician Devin Townsend, released on his own label HevyDevy Records on March 29, 2019. It is his first solo album since Dark Matters, which was a part of the 2014 double album Z², and his first release to act solely as a solo album since 2007's Ziltoid the Omniscient.
Canadian heavy music artist Devin Townsend releases his new album ‘EMPATH’ today, and to coincide with that, the epic video for ‘Spirits Will Collide’ has been launched. Devin Townsend Acoustic main support on Avatar’s Country Tour. We’re pleased to announce that Devin has been added as main support to Avatar’s North American ‘Country’ tour this coming May/June! Devin will be performing acoustic renditions of select songs from his extensive repertoire and of course we’ll have some of those sweet new Empath merch designs and albums on sale at the merch booth.
Throughout his long career, Devin Townsend has been an artist that has defied any label or boundary. He toys with expectations and never chooses to make the same album twice, even if it would result in commercial rewards. So it should come as no surprise to his fans that, following years of success with his band, the Devin Townsend Project, he decided it was time to end that outfit and go it alone. Devin has incorporated fractal imagery into his lyrics before, but Empath builds a self-reflexive ideal into its very structure.

Second single Evermore follows with Devin‘s characteristic mashing of various genres into one cohesive whole: what begins as a deceptively simple hard rock riff in an elementary 1-2 pattern is soon floating uneasily over asymmetric meters before ceding entirely to Devin‘s gentle lilt over his docile acoustic strumming, which then are cut off by a ballroom-worthy waltz that then. morphs into the heavy weirdness we expect from Devin. Devin Townsend – Empath Released: March 29th, 2019. I’m inclined to agree with him, as while that songs gives a good snapshot of the more hyperactive moments, it doesn’t convey the more diverse parts that give Empath such a wide experience

For better or worse Empath is the most Devin Townsend album of Devin’s career, and while it will likely prove extremely divisive even amongst his own fanbase – heck, apart from Singularity I’m not sure I’ll end up going back to it very often myself – it’s impossible not to marvel at the sheer scope and scale of what.
