Dimension Hatröss is the fourth studio album by the Canadian heavy metal band Voivod. It was released on June 29, 1988 on Noise Records and is a concept album which narrates the exploits of Voivod’s mascot cyborg Korgull. The cover concept and artwork was produced by drummer Michel Langevin. Estimated sales are more than 70,000 copies, worldwide. The "Batman Theme"'s cover only appears on the CD version, it is not present on the original vinyl and cassette pressings

Nothingface is the fifth studio album by Canadian metal band Voivod. It was released by Mechanic/MCA Records on October 13, 1989. The album marked a change for the band, expanding their music and exploring more progressive sounds. Several riffs are heavily influenced by Igor Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring", specifically the centre section of "Pre-Ignition".

Released nearly two years after the transitional Killing Technology, Dimension Hatröss is the first album where Voivod's experimental metal is explored from beginning to end. Shedding the clichéd lyrics that the band relied on for their first two releases, they're thankfully replaced by much more thought-provoking lyrics.

Dimension Hatröss serves as the middle point between Voivod's early thrashy years and their subsequent proggier material, started by another subsequent masterpiece in 1989's outstanding Nothingface. As it features some of the band's strongest compositions, the best of both worlds, it's easy to understand why it is held in such grand regard, more than deservedly. Voivod, on the other hand, gradually changed their sound with each album they released, and therefore they didn't get the negative reception that Metallica's "Load" albums did. They created a sound that was more original, more complex, and more fresh. Though there are still traces of thrash metal on this album, those are but few of them. We still get some of the fast tempos common in thrash metal songs, but that's about it. Sometimes they only last a few measures before going into another tempo.
