Voivod is the tenth studio album and thirteenth release overall by Canadian thrash metal/progressive metal band Voivod. It is the first to feature, since 1993's The Outer Limits, returning vocalist Denis Bélanger (Snake) and their first recording with bassist Jason Newsted (Jasonic), formerly of Metallica. It was released in 2003 on Newsted's Chophouse Records label. This is also the last album Voivod completed before guitarist Denis D'Amour (Piggy) died of colon cancer in 2005.

The Wake is the fourteenth studio album, and eighteenth release overall, by Canadian heavy metal band Voivod. The album was released on September 21, 2018 through Century Media Records. The artwork was done by drummer Michel "Away" Langevin. It is also a concept album, and the first Voivod studio album to feature bassist Dominique "Rocky" Laroche, who replaced Jean-Yves "Blacky" Thériault in 2014. It was recorded and mixed by Francis Perron at RadicArt Recording Studio in Canada.

Not exactly a collection of outstanding material, The Best of Voivod does prove that the French-Canadian group's quick transformation from incredibly primitive thrashers into a convincing progressive metal outfit was nothing short of astounding. Early calamities like "Ripping Headaches" are guaranteed only to give you one, but by their fourth release, Dimension Hatröss, the band was garnering compliments as being the Pink Floyd of heavy metal

Korgull the Exterminator, 04:56. Tribal Convictions, 04:54.

With help from savvy recent recruits, the band constructs a diverse, wildly elaborate set that stands with the best of its early classics. On 'The Wake,' Voivod return to the wildly inventive sci-fi prog that made them underground legends in the Eighties. Voivod formed in 1982, and after only five years, the Quebec thrash-gone-prog quartet was pretty much impossible to mistake for any other band.
