Scream Above the Sounds is the tenth studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics. Released on 27 October 2017, it was produced by lead singer and guitarist Kelly Jones, along with Jim Lowe. In 2015, Stereophonics released their ninth studio album, Keep the Village Alive, and supported it with the Keep the Summer Alive Tour throughout late-spring and summer 2016.

Scream Above the Sounds is an album about experience and not letting fear win, both on large and small scales. The album opens with Caught by the Wind, a song that was inspired by the terrorist attacks on Paris in 2015. The anthemic track is about not missing out because you’re scared that something is going to happen–after all, anything could happen at any time. The bright track edges a little close to inspirational clichės, but has an important message regardless. Regardless, Scream Above the Sounds is a solid addition to the Stereophonics discography and a worthy celebration of their twenty-plus years together as a band.
