The Black Album is an unofficial compilation album of solo material by members of the British rock group the Beatles. It was created by the American actor Ethan Hawke, and became widely known as a result of its inclusion in the 2014 film Boyhood.

Lennon wrote "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill" about one of the Beatles' fellow guests who was visiting Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India at the same time. Reportedly, the upper-class American rubbed Lennon the wrong way, and after he killed a tiger there, Lennon got the inspiration for a biting new song. McCartney never shied away from his love of vintage British music hall tunes. A rare late songwriting collaboration between Lennon and McCartney and one of the handful of White Album tracks to include all four Beatles. In a way, "Birthday" signals the band's return to its roots on its next project, the aborted Get Back sessions (which later turned into the Let It Be album). 18. "Martha My Dear". Martha My Dear" is so McCartney.
The Beatles (‘White Album’) was the first Beatles album to be released on the group’s own Apple Records label. Issued in both stereo and mono for the UK and in stereo for the US, the double album was an immediate bestseller, entering the British chart at number one and remaining there for eight of the 22 weeks it was listed . Lennon translated elements of the nursery rhyme Sing a Song of Sixpence for this effort, which comes with an added eerie McCartney segment titled Can You Take Me Back? Unremarkable, but remains easy listening.
The Beatles (commonly known as The White Album) is the eponymous tenth studio album by English rock band The Beatles.

Lennon turns in two of his best ballads with "Dear Prudence" and "Julia"; scours the Abbey Road vaults for the musique concrète collage "Revolution 9"; pours on the schmaltz for Ringo's closing number, "Good Night"; celebrates the Beatles cult with "Glass Onion"; and, with "Cry Baby Cry," rivals Syd Barrett.
Lennon-Harrison fan Tuesday 7 April 2015. Help! Is consistently ignored on Beatles best albums compilations. The Beatles Love Songs compilation, I received for Christmas 1977. My first Beatles album, it is of course a double. I loved it and I still love the Beatles.
From the Beatles’ 1968 White Album to his last solo album, John Lennon, self-described primitive lead player, recorded some of his most brilliant guitar work. Early in his career, Lennon was principally the Beatles’ rhythm guitarist and, for many fans, the band’s most compelling figure. He’d solidly plant his feet on the stage and flex his knees and bob his body in time with his strums. He occasionally played Chuck Berry-style leads, but gladly let George Harrison do most of the soloing onstage. In the studio, though, Lennon played many innovative guitar parts
