Future Shack/Pale Fountains boss Mike Head sounded like . iv/Teardrops until I accidentally left my copy of LOVE REVISITED around at Yorkie’s, where we practised. Thereafter, Michael was reborn on the W. Coast and found his true calling was not to be stuck Jaz Coleman-like singing from behind a monophonic synth, but to (far more admirably) start learning the whole of Arthurly’s (then) too unsung FOREVER CHANGES and exquisite lost/last Elektra 45 ‘Your Mind & We Belong Together’.

Interpreter was the last pop-oriented album from Liverpool's psychedelic genius Julian Cope, in 1996. In the intervening nine years, it seemed like he'd turned his attentions away from music almost completely, especially after the release of his book The Modern Antiquarian. After that, it was year after interminable year of hearing only that a new book was on the way, or an ambient album (Odin) or some less-than-great age (An Audience With the Cope) would appear, frequently to disappoint.

If anything can be said about Cope's activity in the mid-'90s, it's that he sounds like a man on a mission, but determined to have fun as he goes.

He moved back to his old home Tamworth (UK) and started recording his first solo album which was released in 1984. He then started to write books, including, amongst others, two books about his own musical career. In 1992 he founded Queen Elizabeth and in 1999 he founded the band Brain Donor, both bands are still going.
