Ask the Slave - The Order Of Things flac album

It was released on February 24, 2015, on Razor & Tie Records. It is also the final album to feature bassist Jeanne Sagan due to her departure from the band in September 2015. The album was recorded and produced by Josh Wilbur.

Their fourth album doesn’t necessarily reinvent their methods from what they conjured on Ashes, which Argonauta also reissued last year, but in the interim, they also parted ways with vocalist Jovan, moved Johan into that role and brought in Rick for samples, drones and other assorted ambient contributions, so some measure of sonic shift is inevitable. Mostly it sounds like progression. To wit, the 13-minute Education for Death late in the record. I’m not sure highlight.

The creation of a fantasy world is exquisite and the development of the characters is brilliantly done. It’s captivating, stunning, and devastatingly beautiful, a heartwarming yet gut-wrenching read that brought tears to my eyes, along with some big smiles. Books like The Flesh Cartel etc. just do nothing for me & in this there were all kinds of things that fired off warning bells. There's just no way I can rate dnf at 65%. I'm not going to rate this one because it's me, not the book. A couple of years ago I'd probably read this with few problems, despite the fact there is sex sex sex sex sex sex sex sex sex.

OOC: Right now the askblog is attempting to keep it within the realms of things you would learn in the first few chapters. However the status quo of the askblog doesn’t really kick in till a little into the story. I don’t want to say too much openly right now (readers will know why!) but there be inevitably some spoilers given this will reference the story sometimes. But treat the askblog aside from that as some fun and feels that isn’t too constrained by canon or even timeline. It’s an oppurtunity to interact with the characters and may tell its own little ministories sometimes.

The album's single "This Probably Won't End Well" actually opens well with a textured instrumental intro as Phil Labonte calmly sings over what becomes a pop metal number with Jason Costa attempting to give it a little urgency with his blast rhythms. Labonte reverts to growl mode over the much tougher "No Knock", a song that would've been better without the breakdown segments, yet still emits some of the heavier tones ALL THAT REMAINS has put out in some time  . Only the formulaic parts do them disservice.
