Closer Than Close" is a 1997 song by American musician Rosie Gaines. After her solo debut in 1985, with The Curtis Ohlson Band from 1987 to 1989 and doing other projects, singer Rosie Gaines joined Prince & The New Power Generation. She continued afterwards as a solo artist and session singer. In 1995, Gaines released the album Closer than Close. The album's title track was remixed and released as a single in 1997.
Rosie Gaines is an American singer, songwriter and record producer from Pittsburg, California. She released a number of dance hits, the most notable being "Closer Than Close", which made the top 10 in the UK Singles Chart in 1997. The song appeared on the compilation album Now 37, released in July 1997. Gaines is a former band member of Prince and The New Power Generation. She duetted with singer Prince on the hit song "Diamonds and Pearls".
