7 is the seventh studio album by American dream pop band Beach House, released on May 11, 2018, through Sub Pop. It follows the B-Sides and Rarities compilation album released in 2017, which served as a proverbial "cleaning out the closet" to pave the way for a new creative process.
Last year, we released an album of b-sides and rarities. It felt like a good step for us. It helped us clean the creative closet, put the past to bed, and start anew. Throughout the process of recording 7, our goal was rebirth and rejuvenation. We wanted to rethink old methods and shed some self-imposed limitations. In the past, we often limited our writing to parts that we could perform live. On 7, we decided to follow whatever came naturally.
7 is the seventh studio album from the alternative duo Beach House. The lead single from the album was Lemon Glow, and was released Feb 14, 2018 (Valentine’s Day).

Songs for sleep are among the most difficult to make. Ambient is the easiest to doze off to, but some dreams are best cushioned by pop music, the kind that’s so recognizable and well-worn that it practically lives in your subconscious. Like a lullaby someone sang you when you were young, the type of song designed to arrest your mind and put you under. For years, Beach House have given us that music.
Beach House have released their seventh studio album, fittingly titled 7, and it's yet another terrific record. They are a band who have developed a truly signature sound, and yet with each subsequent album, they shift into different and exciting gradients. They have maintained a uniform standard of excellence across their catalog, which means that determining a "best" album seems like a needless exercise.
