Alvin Cash (February 15, 1939 – November 21, 1999) was an American pop singer and actor. Born Alvin Welch in St. Louis, Missouri, and a graduate of St. Louis's Sumner High School (also attended by Luther Ingram, Billy Davis, J. and Tina Turner).

Cash went solo after a few further singles, and recorded an album in tribute to Muhammad Ali; he also acted in several blaxploitation films, such as Petey Wheatstraw and Black Bart Singles.

Chicago soul strutter Alvin Cash had a No. 14 hit with "Twine Time" in February 1965, and a string of minor hit dance novelties followed in 1966. Cash came up with another potential dance-floor filler early in 1967 about Muhammad Ali. The only problem was Cash's timing couldn't have been worse - Ali's career soon was derailed by his Vietnam draft battle. Cash tried again with a disco version of the Shuffle 10 years later to general indifference. Don Covay - Rumble In the Jungle, 1974.
