Nombre real: Timothy Lewis. He has also been a member of Spiritualized since 1997. Also in 1997, John Balance met Thighpaulsandra at a concert. Both had been fans of each other and Balance asked him to join Coil. Balance said "He is a wonderful bright Pagan STAR in his own rite and I are very happy he accepted my invitation.
The Golden Communion is the first release in quite some time for t Thighpaulsandra, perhaps best known for his work with Coil, Wire, Spiritualized, Julian Cope and countless other artists. The two disc, nearly two hour solo album takes the listener on a journey through orchestral and experimental soundscapes that open up to a surprisingly good understanding of rock grooves. It’s an absolute beast of an album, and I managed to speak with the man behind the music. But the album The Golden Communion – as it was originally conceived – was originally slated for release in 2008. Somebody reminded me the other day that I did an interview for Resonance FM where I actually said Yes! It’s gone to the printers!

Out this September, The Golden Communion is Thighpaulsandra’s first solo full-length in almost 10 years, which is around the time that Coil ceased to be, following founder Jhohn Balance’s unforeseen passing. The album is more than two hours long, and considering it’s been in the works more or less since that album hiatus began, you might be surprised that the physical two CDs or three LPs aren’t bearing their own wrinkles. Longtime collaborators Martin Schellar and Sion Orgon (who’s actually the other guy on this cover) helped to craft the epic, genre-shirking whole.
