Prevail is the ninth studio album by Canadian death metal band Kataklysm, released May 23, 2008 in Europe and June 6, 2008 in North America. Music videos were filmed for the tracks "Taking The World By Storm" and "Blood in Heaven". A bonus DVD was included containing the "Taking the World by Storm" video, a photo gallery and a live performance in December 2007 at DeepRockDrive studios in Las Vegas. The songs were voted for by fans watching the performance online.
Prevail is Kataklysm 's ninth full-length album. I want to start off saying that this was an amazing album! I have been listening to this album repeatedly for the past two hours and I have not gotten bored at all! One of the most noticeable features in this album is the guitar work. I think all the riffs are somewhat similar, but not in a bad way at all! They all sort of have a melodic sound to them. In my opinion it makes the album much more enjoyable. The drums fit in very well with the guitar work and have a pretty steady beat throughout the entire album.
Kataklysm is a Canadian death metal band. They have released thirteen studio albums, one EP and two DVDs as of 2018. Kataklysm won their first Juno Award (Canadian equivalent of the Grammy) for best album of the year in the "heavy metal" category for their 2015 album Of Ghosts & Gods. The band's albums have charted throughout the world, including the Billboard Top 100 in the United States.
