Atonement is the tenth studio album by American death metal band Immolation. It was released on February 24, 2017, through Nuclear Blast Records. Atonement received universal acclaim from critics.

Released as a 6-panel CD digipak with centre tray template and right hand pocket containing a 16-page booklet with lyrics, artwork and information. Track 12 "Immolation" is a bonus track. Label Code: LC 07027. Other Versions (5 of 15) View All. Cat.

Immolation themselves stated prior to the release of Atonement that the recent switch between record labels had afforded them more time to write and record the album. With the extra creative room this gave the band, the veteran death metal sages found themselves with the opportunity to develop their ideas more thoroughly and organically. Atonement is still an extremely well crafted offering on every level, and regardless of how tall it stands within the Immolation’s own discography it will definitely stand as one of the best death metal albums of 2017.

How can Vigna keep coming up with these elite riffs and harmonies? How can Dolan still have the best throat in death metal? How come the drumwerk fits so perfectly with the riffs? Because this is IMMO! The absolute upper echolon of brutal death metal! Respect for the pioneers who keep showing how it's done. Album of the year!

REALLY thin vinyl. Probably the most flimsy 33 I have come across haha. Not sure why they pressed it this way? I was skeptical that it was going to sound like shit, but I was wrong.. sounds really good! Plays at 45 rpm, comes with two inserts with awesome artwork on them. Really good album!

Best Death Metal album of 2017. The only album I ever pre-ordered because I just had to have immediately. Well worth it too. The Electric Blue splatter vinyl sounds awesome too. Go buy them and support the band. They have been slugging it out in the underground for years, they deserve it.

I'm with Bounty_Killer: my clear LP plays fine on my Pro-Ject Debut but still...for almost $50 it's kind of insulting that it's pressed onto anything less than 180g.

Hi, I have the clear vinyl edition and it plays fine on my Pro-Ject Debut turntable. My clear records, of this Immolation album, are not warped but it's true that nowadays more and more vinyl records are, even a little, warped and it can results the records be unplayable. And it's true too that Nuclear Blast press vinyl records more and more thin whereas some years ago the entire vinyl production of this label was in 180g vinyl.

The Ivory variant is an import. I have a few friends/know of some people that have the other colors (black incl.), and never heard, nor read of any complaints from playback of their records. However, other people have complained about the same thing with the Ivory. So, yeah........ pretty sure it's exclusively the Ivory variant that's fucked up.

Agreed! Couldn't exchange because it was already sold out. Mine skips due to slight warpage. Noticed this after opening and then playing. Problem resolved by taping a dime to the tone arm; plays (almost) perfectly after first song.. Damn shame, cause it's a fucking brilliant as hell album, and arguably Immolation's best.. in this day and age, vinyl format SHOULD be fucking PERFECTION!!
