Tommy is The Who’s fourth studio album. It is a rock opera telling the story of a Psychosomatic deaf, dumb and blind boy and his experiences in life. The album served as a melting pot for guitarist Pete Townhend’s ideas about sex, family, spirituality and hero worship. Featuring Oliver Reed. Producers Kit Lambert & Pete Townshend. Writers John Entwistle, Keith Moon, Mose Allison & 2 more.

In 1969 Tommy reached in the UK charts

Though the album was slightly flawed, Townshend's ability to construct a lengthy conceptual narrative brought new possibilities to rock music. Despite the complexity of the project, he and the Who never lost sight of solid pop melodies, harmonies, and forceful instrumentation, imbuing the material with a suitably powerful grace.
