Record One Quiet Men, Hiroshima Mon Amour. Record Two Slow Motion, Dislocation.

Hiroshima Mon Amour" remains a critics' and fans' favourite from the group's initial period. Ultravox! also performed it on The Old Grey Whistle Test later in 1978. A fourth single from the album, "All Stood Still", peaked at No. 8. in 1981, and "Slow Motion" from Systems of Romance was also re-issued, reaching No. 33 the same year. This was soon followed by Rage in Eden (1981), with the band returning to Conny Plank's studio for what turned out to be a difficult recording session. Ultravox reconvened in 1986, but Warren Cann was sacked from the band at the beginning of sessions for their U-Vox album. Cann emigrated to the US and retired from music to become an actor. Big Country's Mark Brzezicki took his place.

Waiting, we were waiting As the traffic moved through all our hearts and our heads But things were different then For the quiet men. Shifting, things were shifting Through the walls and hall, there were no walls at all For the quiet friends Of the quiet men. Oh, the quiet men Oh, the quiet men. Springtime, there was sunshine Through the window panes, down all the English lanes Where they walked again The quiet men. Talking, they were talking Of the times to come, and all the time that's gone And they smiled again The quiet men. Listening, they were li. .

This album was Ultravox's apex, never were they to sound so good, so relevant, so crucial. I bought this album when it came out and still mesmerizes me even know and 'Just for a moment' still gives me chills. This album was Ultravox's swansong. the pulse the heartbeat the break andrenalin perfection. Human League made a fortune out of sounding like Hiroshima Mon Amour & Quiet Men. I still like the punkier stuff like Young Savage & RockWROK, mind. Great <3 <3 <3 tnx. Имя. Комментарий. Добавить комментарий.

After the album U-VOX and an accompanying tour Midge Ure left the group to focus on his already established solo career (Warren Cann, the drummer, having left prior to that album). Billy Currie gained the rights to the Ultravox name and recorded an album with new singer, guitarist and Tony Fenelle. Fenelle, however soon quit and Currie established an all-new line-up for the hitherto final Ultravox album, 'Ingenuity' (1994).

With reference to the Conny/Connie Plank spelling - both copies listed here spell it Connie, so I can see no difference between the two entries.

A year and a half later...but this version has it spelled Conny on the back, the other version spells it Connie.
