Lee Jeske's liner notes compare Leonhart to Dave Frishberg, and as a great Frishberg fan, I'd say that's a fair comparison. Of the 11 tracks on this CD, only two are straight instrumentals, although one of them - Roger Kellaway's "Love of My Life" - is one of the prettiest cuts here. Two more are reprises of Jazz classics with new lyrics - "Freedom Jazz Dance" and "So What. Oddly, these sound remarkably reminiscent of the originals, inspite of the new words. But I like Leonhart best for the sense of humor in his lyrics
