This album still sounds good today. The original vinyl that I owned has been augmented for CD by a beautiful performance of the Courtly Dances from Britten's "Gloriana," and by Bream's reduction of a Vivaldi Concerto for Lute, which comes across very well. From the original album, the heart and soul of it, I believe, are two Dowland pieces: the "Lachrimae Pavin" and the "Fantasie. The Pavin (or as we would spell it, "Pavane") is at almost 6 minutes, the longest single piece on the disc.
