This video contains music from the Tudor Court performed by the New York Pro Musica. Since its formation in 1952, the New York Pro Musica has gained recognition as the world's leading ensemble performing music written prior to the 18th century.
Music was of paramount importance in the Tudor period, particularly at the royal court: performers were tasked with privately entertaining monarchs and tutoring their children, and were rewarded with extravagant tips and even personal praise from the king or queen. Fayrfax continued to serve Henry VIII, one of his last commissions being music for the meeting between the monarch and the French king Francois at the Field of Cloth of Gold in 1520. In 1502, Elizabeth of York paid £4 for a pair of clavichords for herself, while her husband, Henry VII, bought lutes for their daughters, Margaret and Mary, who also played the clavichord.

Pro Musica is one of the legendary bands from my country. The band was formed and lead by guitarist and bassist Ilie Stepan, whose restless pursuit of the ideal rock concept work made him an iconic figure of the local scene. Band formed in my home city Timisoara in early '70's but manage to release only one album in 1988 named Rockul baroc. The main man of the band Ilie Stepan was member of another famous band from my country and from my city, Progresiv TM, there was the bass player and one of the main song writters.
