The Firebirds are a UK band, founded in 1981 by their former frontman John Plummer. The band now consists of three musicians; Jim Plummer, Dan Plummer and Jason Bryant. The band has backed artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Campi, Charlie Gracie and Sleepy La Beefe. In 1992, they performed at the official opening of Disneyland Paris, where they were the only British band to perform.

Firebirds is a 1968 album by two American jazz musicians, Prince Lasha (alto saxophone, flute, alto clarinet) and Sonny Simmons (alto saxophone, English horn). Other participating musicians in this album were bassist Buster Williams, drummer Charles Moffett and vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson. Prince Lasha - Alto saxophone, alto clarinet, flute. The debut-album by The Firebirds was selected into the Top-5-list ''Best of s'' by the american magazine 'New York City Jazz Record’, and the press praised the same album with words like: ''In a very charmingly way, the three Pasborg-Firebirds have shed a new light on some of the strongest euro-classical music from the last century without losing the works complexity'' - JazzNytt, Norway.

The Firebirds are one of the few cover bands and doo wop/oldies revival groups smart enough to record as much of their work as possible. They have their own record label, Rockville Records, which produces their albums on CD as well as their other merchandise. Under the Rockville label they’ve released 13 albums, including 11 studio albums, 1 live performance album, and the recent Early Years: 1981-1991. For those new to the group, two great albums to start with are Doo Wop Volumes 1 (2007) and 2 (2011). The Firebirds don’t come close to what people would consider famous.

The Firebirds have played the Paris Music Festival and Corporate functions in Switzerland, Italy and Denmark. At home, the Corporate events, amongst others, saw the band entertaining guests for the Priory Group, the David Lloyd Leisure Company and the Royal College of GP’s Annual Ball. More recently, the band visited South America for the first time playing to sell-out crowds across Brazil. this tour coincided with the release of their latest album in which the band have emulated the original sounds of the 50’s and 60’s with jukebox classics.
