Live: Entertainment or Death is the first official live album by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. Released on November 23, 1999, it is a compilation of recordings from 1982 to 1999. However, it contains no songs from the band's self-titled 1994 album, nor 1997's Generation Swine. We picked the stuff that sounded the best without having to touch it up," Nikki Sixx observed in 2000. We still play some of those songs in the set; they just didn't make the final tracklisting.

Live: Entertainment Or Death (Beyond, 1999). The greatest live albums capture a moment in time: Thin Lizzy’s Live And Dangerous, UFO’s Strangers In The Night, Motörhead’s No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith. But the Crüe’s live album – culled from performances spanning two decades, and released ten years after the band’s commercial zenith – doesn’t have that same magical aura. The music is mostly great, especially the 80s stuff, with explosive versions of Looks That Kill, Live Wire and Dr. Feelgood. Mötley Crüe never needed an excuse for a party, but when their fifth album topped the US chart – the only Crüe album to do so – it was the sweetest of victories. Having seen LA rivals Guns N’ Roses attain world domination, the Crüe served notice with Dr. Feelgood that they were still major players.

It was released on November 14, 1998 on Mötley/Hip-O. Tommy Lee recorded his drum tracks for the album's two new songs, the single "Bitter Pill" and the promo single "Enslaved" and then started a prison sentence of five months. Additionally, a remix version of "Glitter" is included. The tour for the album began after Lee's release from prison.
