1960's reissue "Electronically Reprocessed" for stereo from the original LP Guitar Recital. Label: PRST-2928 Rear Cover: S-2928 Cover: 2928.

Carlos Montoya (13 December 1903 – 3 March 1993) was a prominent Flamenco guitarist and a founder of the modern-day popular Flamenco style of music. His unique style and successful career, despite all odds, have left a great legacy for modern day Flamenco. It is because of his pioneering work in popular Flamenco music that have allowed other great modern groups such as the Gipsy Kings to take hold in all parts of the world. Carlos Montoya was born in Madrid, Spain, into a Romani family, on December 13, 1903.

Enjoy extra speedy picados and spectacular tempo changings from the "father" of the modern flamenco style. Really a 'must have' for all guitar fans. Tracklist: 01. Malaguena 02.

An album of discount flamenco from Carlos Montoya and a trio of other guitarists. The first half is taken up by pieces performed by the ageless Montoya and the second half performed by El Pili, Enrique Montoya, and El Nino de Alicante, along with a dancer adding the jaleos and castanets. Montoya performs excellently, as one would expect given his status in the history of flamenco.

Ramón Montoya (1880-1949). He made flamenco guitar to become more than just accompaniment. We can consider him to be one of the first great flamenco guitarists. Some critics insist that Montoya was a founder of the solo style, noted as rondena, and of some types of taranta and minera. It proves that we are talking about a great master. Ramón Montoya can be considered father of the modern flamenco guitar. 2. Sabicas (1912-1990). Proper name: Agustín Castellón Campos.
