LP (12" album, 33 rpm). The Mission (UK) Format: Vinyl. The first and best Mission album by a long shot, this one is pure rock. Technically it has a few problems, but in spirit it's a fine continuation of the FALAA-era Sisters legacy.

By the time of their second album (if one considers the compilation stop-gap The First Chapter to be their first), the Mission had truly hit the ground running. Bigger than the Sisters of Mercy had ever been, and more commercial, too, the band simply churned out the hits and, as the years passed and the tour dates mounted up, it was easy to believe that Wayne Hussey must have been getting just a little sick of playing the same songs every night.

Children is the second regular studio album by the British rock-band The Mission. It was released in February 1988 by Mercury Records. Two singles were released from the album, "Tower of Strength" and "Beyond the Pale". A third single, "Kingdom Come", was scheduled but appeared as a promo-only. Singer Julianne Regan (from the band All About Eve) sang vocals on two tracks - "Beyond the Pale" and "Black Mountain Mist". The album was re-issued in 2007 with four bonus tracks.
