Roxy Music is the debut studio album by the English glam rock band of the same name. It was released on 16 June 1972. It was generally well received by contemporary critics and made it to number 10 in the UK Albums Chart.

On Roxy Music's debut, the tensions between Brian Eno and Bryan Ferry propelled their music to great, unexpected heights, and for most of the group's second album, For Your Pleasure, the band equals, if not surpasses, those expectations. However, there are a handful of moments where those tensions become unbearable, as when Eno wants to move toward texture and Ferry wants to stay in more conventional rock territory; the nine-minute "The Bogus Man" captures such creative tensions perfectly, and it's easy to see why Eno left the group after the album was completed.

Roxy Music's' second album was proof that this band was no novelty act! There really isn't a bad track on "For Your Pleasure". Their early albums only get better with the test of time.

Thrill Of It All", Roxy Music best of box set, included seven of eight songs from "For Your Pleasure". Almost every song is highlight. But the show belongs to title track, not only because of ambicious and magical fusion of pop and psychedelia but also because of great performance by the band. For Your Pleasure" is great example how differences can be unifying and complementary, Ferry never allowed group to slide too much into hard rock chaos, and the band kept Ferry off cheap pop melodies and arrangements

1973: For Your Pleasure. On the other hand, there's enough diversity on every Roxy Music album (at least, on every pre-1979 Roxy Music album) to guarantee a 'non-boredom' pass in almost every case. Ferry was never the one to want to stagnate, and he tries a different groove all the time, which even led to a serious flirtation with disco on Siren - yet this was the case when the artist really beat that wretched style and made it serve his particular purposes (unlike, say, Rod Stewart, who finally got chewed up by disco).
