Set in 2068, Captain Scarlet presents the hostilities between Earth and a race of Martians known as the Mysterons. After human astronauts attack their city on Mars, the vengeful Mysterons declare war on Earth initiating a series of reprisals that are countered by Spectrum, a worldwide security organisation. Spectrum boasts the extraordinary abilities of its primary agent, Captain Scarlet.

In the episode Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons: Winged Assassin they crash a plane with there powers yet they don't bother using that particular power to take control of spectrum's vehicles when they try and stop them. Whilst this probably makes sense story telling wise . to stop the Mysterons appearing too overpowered and wining the war all the time. It does raise the question of the limits of there powers. Captain Black: This is Captain Black, relaying instructions from the Mysterons on mars.

His final verdict on the film was negative: "The grafting of the new ending isn't too well done, and the whole thing looks totally faked.
