Frontiers is the eighth studio album by the American rock band Journey, released in February 1983 on the Columbia Records label. The album reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and would garner four top 40 singles: "After the Fall" (No. 23), "Send Her My Love" (No. 23), "Faithfully" (No. 12), and "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" (No. 8), and a rock radio hit in "Chain Reaction".

The first five songs have videos that can be found on youtube. There are four extra songs from other albums on the CD version. It is rare that you find an album that has all great songs on it unless its a greatest hits album. This is one of those rare albums. In February 2017, Journey went to Japan for a special show at Tokyo’s Budokan that featured a complete performance of 1981’s Escape and 1983’s Frontiers at the request of legendary Japanese concert promoter Mr. Udo in honor of his 50th anniversary in the business. When Journey started recording their eighth album, Frontiers - which was released in February 1983 - they were coming off their biggest year ever. Their previous album, 1981’s Escape, contained their best set of songs, a consistent mix of radio-friendly pop and fist-raising rock that they had been striving for since 1975. The band was rewarded with its first (and only) No. 1 album and its all-time best seller - not counting 1988’s Greatest Hits collection – with more than nine million copies sold. So expectations were high when they stepped into a California studio to record the follow up.
