Jadis - Photoplay flac album

This is JADIS' most recent album from 2006 and once again we get Chandler, Jowitt, Christey and Orford delivering the goods. This album isn't much different from the previous ones as we get those commercial flavoured tunes but with maybe more of an edge this time. There's A Light" is maybe more guitar dominated than what we'd here in the past.

The Music Photoplay challenges Jadis’ belonging in the Neo-Progressive Rock genre. Some things remain the same, though, and Chandler’s voice is definitely one of them. The Verdict Photoplay undoubtedly reveals a desire to play with new sounds and images, thus a Progressive album for Jadis after all. Jadis' new album Photoplay is quite possibly their most rewarding work to date. Unlike its predecessor, it consists of independent songs rather than following a concept, and is put together with a strictly defined songwriting attitude. Guitarist and vocalist Gary Chandler also took on the responsibility of mixing & producing Photoplay with impressive results. There are moments on the album where infinite numbers of threads are tied together combining dense atmospherics with gripping guitar arrangements. Without doubt, the production on the album is their best yet.

The sixth Jadis album, Photoplay, sounds quite a lot different than their previous albums, mainly due to the fact that vocalist, guitarist Gary Chandler did most of the recordings at his home studio and worked with Pro Tools for the first time, as well as acting the role of engineer. All of which allowed Chandler the freedom to work and refine over a several month period on Photoplay.
