Antonín Dvořák's Serenade for Strings in E major (Czech: Smyčcová serenáda E dur), Op. 22, was composed in just two weeks in May 1875. It remains one of the composer's more popular orchestral works to this day. 1875 was a fruitful year for Dvořák, during which he wrote his Symphony No. 5, String Quintet No. 2, Piano Trio No. 1, the opera Vanda, and the Moravian Duets. These were happy times in his life. His marriage was young, and his first son had been born

Milhaud told Bacharach, "Don't be afraid of writing something people can remember and whistle. Don't ever feel discomfited by a melody". 391 (1961); words by Tsang Yung Suite de quatrains, 18 poems for reciter and chamber ensemble, Op. 398 (1962); words by Francis Jammes Adieu, Cantata for voice, flute, viola and harp, Op. 410 (1964); words by Arthur Rimbaud Cantate de psaumes for baritone and orchestra, Op.

Aspen sérénade for chamber orchestra, Op. 361 (1957). String Septet for 2 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos and double bass, Op. 408 (1964); The second movement of the septet, entitled 'Etude in controlled chance' is a rare example of Milhaud embracing aleatoric compositional devices. Suite de quatrains, 18 poems for reciter and chamber ensemble, Op. 398 (1962); words by Francis Jammes. Adieu, Cantata for voice, flute, viola and harp, Op.

Hmm, it looks like we don’t know much about this album.
